HOW TO BUILD A BRAND ON THE EVER-CHANGING INTERNET
Key insights and takeaways that have helped us grow our audience to over 75 million followers and create new ways for them to interact with the Zach King brand.
Zach King — the LA based filmmaker known for his clever magic tricks and “digital sleight of hand”, is one of social media’s most prominent content creators.
With a combined social reach of over 75 million followers, Zach’s magical content has delighted fans all over the world.
Zach has been featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, Adweek, and People. His company, King Studio, has partnered with brands such as Disney, Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, and many others.
Recently, Zach King has expanded onto the TikTok platform, where he has seen incredible growth. At over 42 million followers, he’s currently the third most followed account in the world.
Although the content King produced wasn’t exactly riveting, he was able to host training seminars as a source of income while in college. “I had no idea what I was really getting myself into,” King admitted. He explained that the idea came out of necessity after he couldn’t find good tutorials for the software online. “I decided to fill that need and post free tutorials online,” he explained to The Chimes.
After a couple years of posting tutorials, Zach King decided to experiment. He told the Los Angeles Times that he “turned to posting cool videos, doing digital effects.”
After a particular video involving a fake “hologram setting” on the Apple iPad 2 became popular, King created more special-effects videos — like his video titled “Contest Entry Gone Wrong,” which he sent to YouTube for the video sharing platform’s NextUp Creators contest. The clip earned him the YouTube NextUp award worth $35,000 and the confidence to continue creating videos.

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.
Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.
The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.
Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.
Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.
