Alyssa Nakken has made history with the San Francisco Giants as the first full-time female coach in Major League Baseball history. Nakken had previously joined the organization as a baseball operations intern in 2014. During his time, she worked with the team on their health and wellness programs. Nakken also graduated from the University of San Francisco with a master’s degree in sports management in 2015. She has a background in sports as a former college softball player at Sacramento State.
As the first full-time female MLB coach, Alyssa made history in 2020 when she joined the coaching staff of the San Francisco Giants. Her groundbreaking achievement was further solidified in 2022 when she became the first woman to coach on the field during a Major League game.
