Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think, learn, and make decisions similarly to humans. This technology enables computers and systems to perform tasks that typically require human cognitive functions, such as understanding natural language, recognizing patterns, solving complex problems, and even driving cars.
AI can be divided into two main categories: narrow AI and general AI. Narrow AI, also known as weak AI, is designed to perform specific tasks, such as voice recognition or recommendation systems. Examples include virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa, as well as algorithms that recommend movies on streaming platforms. General AI, or strong AI, is a more advanced form of AI that, in theory, could perform any intellectual task that a human can do, exhibiting flexibility, creativity, and problem-solving abilities across a wide range of scenarios. However, general AI remains largely theoretical and has not yet been realized.
