Talent Short Bio

Caroline Ravenall is an international leadership strategist, speaker, and coach whose work helps organisations cultivate future fit business cultures and inspires individuals to live with meaning, courage, and impact. Her forthcoming book, Finding My Virginity, reflects her core philosophy: that business can be an adventure and that our greatest challenges often unlock our greatest potential.

With a decade of strategic sales and leadership experience inside Richard Branson’s Virgin Group, Caroline understands first hand how to lead through ambiguity, rapid growth, and disruption. She played a central role in setting up and launching Virgin Atlantic Airways in South Africa in record time, learning invaluable lessons about agility, innovation, and the unconventional leadership mindset that defines the Virgin brand. Over the past fifteen years, she has expanded this foundation through a successful career in business consulting, coaching, and organisational transformation.

Caroline has worked with leading organisations including Ernst & Young, Mercantile Bank, ABSA, Duke University, GIBS, Old Mutual, and Delta Airlines, guiding teams to unlock potential, strengthen resilience, and navigate uncertainty with confidence.

Finding MY Virginity is the title of Caroline Ravenall forthcoming book which reflects her passion for creating future-fit business cultures and ennobling people to live more meaningful, courageous and impactful lives.

Drawing on a strategic sales and leadership background of almost 10 years in Richard Branson’s Virgin Group and 15 years of business, coaching and consulting experience, Caroline Ravenall – Leadership inspires people to unlock their potential and expand possibilities in a world fraught with change and uncertainty. Her experience has seen her work with organisations from Ernst and Young, Mercantile Bank, ABSA Bank, Duke University, GIBS, Old Mutual and Delta Airlines.

An adventurous spirit at heart, Caroline has lived, travelled and worked in many places around the world. She has negotiated multi-million-dollar contracts in London and New York, dived with Whale Sharks off the coast of Mozambique, driven off road in some of the most rugged terrain in Africa, abseiled down mountains, and spent 6 months in rural India at a meditation retreat.  Much of her work today is inspired by these experiences which taught her valuable lessons in accessing peak performance states, building resilience, and embracing change.

One of her favourite business adventures was setting up and launching Virgin Atlantic Airways in South Africa in record time. Working with a disruptive brand like Virgin and a maverick boss like Branson taught her than change, ambiguity, uncertainty and adventure are around every corner. It was here that she came to recognise that business, can indeed, be an adventure, that courage and confidence are skills which can be learned, and our toughest challenges are a catalyst for unleashing our hidden genius.  It is these lessons that she shares with her clients today.

Caroline Ravenall currently sits on the external Faculty at Duke University and is undertaking a master’s degree in the UK. Her work brings together the latest research in neuroscience, human potential, leadership development and organisational change.

Her programmes and keynotes have demonstrated a marked improvement in leadership effectiveness, team performance and employee well being.

Today Caroline Ravenall uses the lessons learned from the experience together with 15 years of culture change consulting, leadership development and coaching experience to inspire leaders and their teams develop the performance mindset to embrace change, ignite innovation and turn business into an adventure.

Caroline Ravenall Showreel: Leading with Courage, Clarity, and Authentic Power

A dynamic snapshot of Caroline Ravenall’s high energy keynote style, showcasing her Virgin inspired leadership lessons and her call to transform business into an adventure.

Summary

In this two minute showreel, Caroline Ravenall introduces the themes behind her signature keynote, Finding My Virginity. With humour and openness, she begins by dispelling the literal interpretation of the title and instead highlights her decade of experience working with Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic. She explains how the Virgin brand has long been known for challenging norms, disrupting industries, and operating with an adventurous mindset.

Caroline connects these principles to the modern leadership landscape, noting that organisations today are moving away from mechanical command and control toward leadership that is agile, adaptive, inspiring, and deeply human. She outlines how leaders are being asked to step up, stand out, and consistently “fly in the face of the ordinary.”

Inviting audience participation, she encourages business leaders to reflect on how they can reignite magic within their organisations. She asserts that organisational transformation begins with personal transformation: before leaders can revitalise their companies, they must unlock the magic within themselves.

Drawing on her Virgin experience and global adventures, Caroline explains that individuals under pressure do not rise to their expectations but fall to their level of practice. This underpins her core message: inspiring leadership begins with self leadership. Finding My Virginity is ultimately about cultivating courage, clarity, confidence, and energy—qualities that empower leaders to show up authentically, step into their unique strengths, and guide their teams toward a future fit culture.

Talent FAQ's

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.

Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.

The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.

Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.

Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.

  • Virtual speaking appearances are a cost-effective alternative to high speaking fees, often 10-50% cheaper than in-person rates.
  • There is typically no difference in fee for a 15-minute speech versus a 60-minute speech.
  • Some motivational speakers are open to discounting their fee if hired for more than one event by the same organization.
  • When browsing speakers, consider their location to keep travel costs down.
  • Personal connections to your organization or event location can increase your chances of securing a renowned speaker.
  • Be upfront about your needs and expectations to ensure a successful partnership.
