Anita Asante is a footballer who plays in defence for Aston Villa and has over 70 caps for the England national team.
Having also been a part of the London 2012 Olympic Games Team GB football squad, Anita has claimed awards such as Nationwide Player of the Month and Player of the Year 2003.

After various spells with American and Swedish football clubs, Anita returned to her original team Arsenal to play in the WSL campaign in 2020. Anita has also previously been a member of the Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 England national teams, with her most prominent role being the captain of England Under 19 team.
She scored her first international goal in a match against Norway and has also claimed recognition of the Outstanding Achievement Award 2006 and the Sports Award 2004 from the Ghana Professional Awards.
