Her life story fuels her mission. After losing her mother to breast cancer at age nine, Maria struggled with grief, loneliness and obesity. At 15, she was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a lifelong condition she has learned to manage with courage and determination. Maria Marin’s personal experiences is a source of inspiration. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was 9 years old. Her loneliness drove her to find comfort in food, and she struggled with being overweight.
