For nearly 15 years, THE WATER COOLERS have entertained audiences around the world, as far reaching as Singapore and Australia, with their high energy, uncommonly funny, honest take on work and life. Smart phones, conference calls, kids, co-workers, and travel are just a few of the topics this group of top NYC talent turns into hilarious sketch comedy and song.
They are one of the few acts to win Event Solutions magazine’s Spotlight Awards for Entertainment of the Year multiple times.
Once called a cross between The Office and the funniest YouTube parody video you ever saw, The Water Coolers is a singing comedy act that uses top NY talent to answer the question “does this stuff happen to anyone else?”
Conceived and created by Tom and Sally Allen to combine their skills, The Water Coolers made their New York club debut in 2000 and followed that two years later with a smash engagement Off-Broadway, produced by one of the producers of HAIRSPRAY, SPAMALOT, and THE PRODUCERS. The Water Coolers received two Spotlight Awards for Entertainment of the Year, making them one of only 3 acts to be awarded this honor twice. In addition to a packed special events schedule, they have toured their constantly updated act at performing arts centers around the U.S. and spots as far reaching as Singapore.
We make people laugh about work and luckily, the ever-evolving world of work is a steady source of comedy.
Their writing team mixes professional comedy writers with people working in the “real world” to deliver an authentic and funny take on work. The team is headed up by one of the creators of New York’s longest running comedy hit ever, “Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding” whose other comedy credits include numerous appearances on The Conan O’Brien Show, and voicing Peanut on the Cartoon Network’s cult hit, “Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law,” also starring Stephen Colbert and Gary Cole.
The performing cast is made up of New York professionals with resumes including top comedy clubs like Igby’s, the Improv, the Comic Strip, and the Icehouse as well as many Broadway production including Gloria Estefan’s “On Your Feet,” “Jersey Boys,” Carole King’s “Beautiful,” “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Wicked,” “Rock of Ages,” “Legally Blonde”, “The Adams Family” “Chicago” “Hair”, “Pippin”, “In The Heights ,” “Les Miserables,” “Mamma Mia,” and “The Boy From Oz” with Hugh Jackman.
Clients include Fisher Price, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Boy Scouts of America, Brother International, Bingham, and Genentech among many others.
Pure, Hilarious Entertainment
If you’ve talked about it around the water cooler, odds are THE WATER COOLERS have a side-splitting song about it. Your audience will love the way they musically send up topics such as annoying co-workers, office distractions, selling Girl Scout cookies at work and keeping up with technology. They can also write custom songs specifically for your audience and event.
And it’s not just for corporate nine to fivers. Over the years they have developed specialty material for many different professional audiences – for example, for physicians a song about self-diagnosing patients to the tune of “I Heard It through the Grapevine” called “I Read About It Online” or “I’m a Mall Walker” to the tune of “I’m a Girl Watcher” for retail sales associates.

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.
Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.
The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.
Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.
Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.
