Professional tennis player and sports speaker Anna Kournikova, known for her beauty and celebrity status, has made her one of the most well known tennis player in the industry.
In 2000, Anna was ranked No. 8 in the world and has been named No. 1 in the world in doubles at various points in her career. Partnering with Martina Hingis, the pair won Grand Slam titles in 1999 and 2002.
Anna didn’t play on the WTA Tour since 2003, but is a frequent player in exhibition matches for charity. She played in an event organized by Elton John and fellow tennis players Andy Roddick and Serena Williams.
Other charity events include The Race, which raises funds for children’s Hospital in Los Angeles and the AIDS Foundation charity match. Unfortunately, she had to possibly end her tennis career because of serious back and spinal problems.
Sports speaker Anna Kournikova was the new trainer on the hit TV show, The Biggest Loser where she replaced Jillian Michaels.
In addition to her tennis and television work, Anna is a Global Ambassador for Population Services International’s “Five and Alive” Program, which addresses health issues that children under five and their families face.
