Keynote Topics

These are the most turbulent economic times in more than a generation. Political turbulence also reigns with the newly elected presidential administration bringing to Washington a new set of radically different policies.

Stephen Moore’s presentation provides audiences with an inside look at how the economic policy and political decisions in Washington impact the financial outlook for investors.

Increasingly, Fed policies, congressional budget policies, Washington tax policies and bailouts have a profound impact on the stock market and the nation’s economic growth path. Shrewd investors can no longer ignore the policy outlook.

The presentation provides interesting graphics and is interspersed with humorous tales about the inside story of how Washington really works (and in most cases, doesn’t) provided by a 20 year veteran of inside the beltway policy making.

This presentation discusses how economic policy changes in the past 20 years have effected the markets and how changes in the years ahead—from the Bush tax cuts to Social Security and health care reforms—will influence the financial scene in the U.S and abroad over the next decade.

THE TRUTH ABOUT OPPORTUNITY, TAXES, AND WEALTH IN AMERICA

This keynote explores what it means for our economic system and our economic results to be “fair.”

  • Does it mean that everyone has a fair shot?
  • Does it mean that everyone gets the same amount?
  • Does it mean the government can assert the authority to forcibly take from the successful and give to the poor?
  • Is government supposed to be Robin Hood determining who gets what?
  • Or should the market decide that?

Stephen Moore has served as a Senior Economic Adviser to President Donald Trump, where he focused on tax reform, regulatory reform and energy policy. In addition to this role, Moore is a heritage visiting senior fellow and a Senior Economic Analyst at CNN.

As Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Heritage, Moore focuses on advancing public policies that increase the rate of economic growth to help the United States retain its position as the global economic superpower. He also works on budget, fiscal and monetary policy and showcases states that get fiscal houses in order.

“Today’s economy requires experienced thought leadership to navigate global changes,” said 32 Advisors founder and CEO Robert Wolf. “Stephen’s breadth of experience on the intersection of the private sector and public policy will provide our clients with actionable insights for the most pressing issues.”

With more than thirty years of experience as an economist and as a leading thinker on the impact of government on business, Moore is well-positioned to provide clients with a deepened understanding of the shifts in our global economy.

Stephen Moore has served as a Senior Economist at the Joint Economic Committee under former Chairman Dick Armey of Texas. There, he advised Mr. Armey on budget, tax, and competitiveness issues. He was also an architect of the famous Armey flat tax proposal.

Moore’s early career was shaped by three people who had a profound influence on him: Julian Simon, the late Cato Institute scholar; Edwin J. Feulner, a co-founder of Heritage; and Art Laffer, the economist best known for the Laffer curve.

“What makes them so great is they were willing to take on the conventional wisdom. They were subject to a lot of criticism for doing that,” Moore told The Foundry.  “Those are the real change-makers.”

Stephen Moore calls his creation of the Club for Growth the defining moment of his career. The organization, which he left in 2004, helps elect conservative members of Congress (including Heritage President Jim DeMint when he first ran for Senate).

Moore next founded the Free Enterprise Fund before joining The Wall Street Journal. As senior economics writer for the newspaper’s editorial board, he covered Washington policy debates and state issues.

Talent FAQ's

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.

Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.

The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.

Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.

Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.

  • Virtual speaking appearances are a cost-effective alternative to high speaking fees, often 10-50% cheaper than in-person rates.
  • There is typically no difference in fee for a 15-minute speech versus a 60-minute speech.
  • Some motivational speakers are open to discounting their fee if hired for more than one event by the same organization.
  • When browsing speakers, consider their location to keep travel costs down.
  • Personal connections to your organization or event location can increase your chances of securing a renowned speaker.
  • Be upfront about your needs and expectations to ensure a successful partnership.
  • Speaker bureaus like Speakers Inc help guide you through the booking process to negotiate the best deal with favorable terms.
