Hailing from St. Augustine, Florida, Mike’s talent on the baseball diamond caught the attention of none other than the New York Yankees, who drafted him straight out of high school. However, driven by a desire for both academic and athletic excellence, Mike opted to further his education and athletic career at Stanford University, where he showcased his prowess as a pitcher in the revered College World Series.
Despite facing setbacks, Mike’s resilience and determination propelled him forward. Following his collegiate success, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals, marking the beginning of a promising professional baseball career. For three seasons, Mike donned the Royals’ jersey, displaying grit and dedication on the field. However, fate had other plans, as arm injuries prematurely halted his playing career while still in the minor leagues.
Adversity often serves as a catalyst for transformation, and for Mike Robbins, it was no different.
