During this eye-opening presentation, Forrest Sawyer takes on the hottest issues of the day.
He makes sense of the headlines and clarifies complicated events, while sharing the wisdom and perspective that only a media veteran of his quality could possess.
Forrest Sawyer is established as one of the most experienced and credible broadcast journalists of our day for a long time. He brings his vast creativity, media expertise, and integrity to Sawyer Media, where his responsibilities include leading the integration of legacy and new media production with emerging digital technologies.
Forrest joined NBC News in October 2000 as veteran journalist, and became an anchor and contributor for both the broadcast network and the 24-hour cable news network MSNBC. He played a significant role in the 2000 presidential campaign and election coverage and has reported major breaking news stories.
Sawyer is the chief substitute anchor for The News with Brian Williams and, together with Sawyer Media, he produces numerous MSNBC documentaries. Erik Sorenson, Vice President and General Manager of MSNBC said upon Sawyer’s arrival at NBC News, “His journalistic versatility, including his experience covering major news events around the globe will be a tremendous asset for our coverage.”
In addition to his engagements with NBC and MSNBC, Sawyer also reports for the acclaimed PBS documentary program Frontline and the Discovery Channel. He has recently anchored a year-long Discovery initiative on violence in America, including a nationwide town meeting; a Frontline report on the impact of homophobia; as well as a live broadcast from the South Pacific’s Bikini Atoll, where the United States conducted 54 nuclear tests.
Over the past ten years, Sawyer has covered virtually every international confrontation involving United States troops. Most important, he covered the Persian Gulf war from the first days of the conflict through the post-war aftermath in Kurdistan – filing stories from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Egypt and Jordan.
During the ground war he filed the first live television report from the battlefield in history and reported live from inside Kuwait City while it was still occupied by Iraqi forces. During the air war against Yugoslavia, Forrest Sawyer was the only television reporter inside the US Apache helicopter base and was present when a crash left the US with its only fatalities of the war.
Forrest Sawyer was awarded with numerous honors during his career, including the prestigious seven National Emmy Awards, an Associated Press Award, two Sigma Delta Chi Awards, George Foster Peabody Award, two Edward R. Murrow Awards, an Ohio State Award, an Ark Award and two American Psychological Association Awards.

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.
Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.
The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.
Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.
Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.
