    Erica Baker is a Principal Group Engineering Manager at Microsoft and a respected keynote speaker known for her leadership in engineering, diversity and inclusion within the technology sector. With a career spanning more than fifteen years, she has held key roles at leading companies including Google, Slack and Patreon, where she developed deep expertise in infrastructure, build systems and engineering operations.

    Erica began her career in domain administration at the University of Alaska before joining Google, where she advanced from Support Technician to Site Reliability Engineer. She later contributed to engineering excellence at Slack and led infrastructure teams at Patreon, building scalable systems and high-performing teams.

    Beyond her technical leadership, Erica is a prominent advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion in tech. She is a founding member of Project Include and serves on the boards and advisory groups of organizations such as Girl Develop It, Atipica and Hack the Hood. She is also a mentor with Black Girls Code and a member of Barbie’s Global Advisory Council.

    She joined Patreon in 2017 where she manages the Infrastructure Engineering team. Erica is on the Board of Directors for Girl Develop It, the advisory Boards for Atipica and Hack the Hood, and is a Tech Mentor for Black Girls Code. She is also a Global Advisory Council Member for Barbie.

    Erica Baker is a founding member of Project Include, was the 2015 Level Playing Field Institute Lux Award winner, a nominee for the 2016 Crunchies Include Diversity Award, and was included in WIRED Magazine’s 2016 NextList. Erica is currently based in Oakland, California.
