Philip Snyman is an internationally respected high-performance coach, leadership speaker, and Head Coach of South Africa’s world-renowned Blitzboks. Drawing on more than 15 years of elite rugby experience as both an international player and coach, he helps organizations understand what it takes to build winning cultures, develop resilient leaders, and sustain high performance in demanding environments.
Before becoming Head Coach of the South African Rugby Sevens team, Philip enjoyed an outstanding playing career that established him as one of the most respected competitors in international rugby. He represented the Blitzboks in more than 240 World Rugby Sevens Series tournaments, captained South Africa on the world stage, and played a pivotal role in securing the bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. His career was defined by relentless preparation, consistency under pressure, and an unwavering commitment to team success.
Transitioning seamlessly into coaching, Philip continued to build his reputation as a leader capable of developing high-performing teams. After serving as Head Coach of Germany’s national rugby sevens programme, he returned to South Africa to join the Blitzboks coaching staff. In 2024, following another Olympic bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games as interim Head Coach, he was appointed the permanent Head Coach of the Blitzboks, entrusted with leading one of the world’s most successful rugby sevens programmes into its next era.
