Malala Yousafzai is a passionate female education activist, who rose to fame after she survived being shot in the head by the Taliban. Courageously advocating her right to education, Malala was shot on the 9th of October 2012 and left fighting for her life.
Having lived to share her story, Malala Yousafzai is now the co-founder of the Malala Fund and a female motivational speaker who empowers other women to stand up for their rights.
The Pakistani Taliban have long limited girls education, having destroyed countless schools and shut schools specifically for girls. On the 9th of October 2012, Malala was on her way home after sitting an exam when a Taliban gunman shot her and another girl due to their activism for female education.
After initial treatment at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology, Malala was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham where she made a recovery and rose to international fame for her passions for equality.
Since recovery, Malala was able to attend school at the Edgbaston High School and completed studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford. Malala Yousafzai has also become the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize– accepting the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize for struggles against suppression and the rights for children’s education.
She has also claimed awards such as the National Youth Peace Prize, the Anne Frank Award for Moral Courage and the International Children’s Peace Prize.
Named as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World and one of the 150 Most Influential Female Leaders in the UK, Malala is now a popular choice as a female motivational speaker for events.
Having previously spoken at TED events, such as An Optimistic Look at the Future of Girls’ Education, Malala Yousafzai is a seasoned speaker who empowers women to stand up for their rights.
With a lifelong mission to ensure that all women have access to the vital education they need, Malala now works with the Malala Fund to help break down the barriers that often hold women back.

Speaker fees can vary depending on factors such as expertise, demand, and event specifics. While some speakers may charge a flat fee for their services, others may have hourly rates. It’s best to discuss fee structures directly with the speaker or their representative to understand the pricing model.
Keynote speeches typically range from 30 to 90 minutes, with the duration determined by the speaker’s expertise, the event’s agenda, and audience preferences. Keynote speeches often include a combination of inspirational stories, practical insights, and actionable advice tailored to the event’s theme or objectives.
The scale of the event and audience size can indeed impact a speaker’s fee. Larger events with a broader reach or higher attendance may command higher fees due to increased exposure and demand. Conversely, smaller events or niche audiences may offer opportunities for more flexible pricing arrangements.
Travel expenses such as transportation, accommodation, and meals are typically negotiated separately from the speaker’s fee. These costs vary depending on the speaker’s location, travel distance, and event duration. It’s important to clarify travel arrangements and expenses during the booking process to avoid misunderstandings.
Many speakers require a deposit to secure a booking, with the remaining balance due closer to the event date. Deposits are often non-refundable and serve as a commitment from both parties. It’s advisable to discuss deposit requirements and payment terms with the speaker or their representative when finalizing the booking.
