In September 1992, a passerby discovered Kanya as an infant and took her to a local hospital. Despite efforts, her biological family was never found. At five years old, she was adopted by an American family and moved to Portland, Oregon. Adjusting to a new culture and language was challenging, but Kanya’s indomitable spirit shone through. She taught herself to walk on her hands and engaged in various adaptive sports, including wheelchair basketball and tennis with an attitude of No Legs No Limits.
