    Robert Hannigan is a globally respected authority on cybersecurity, intelligence, and national security strategy. As former Director of GCHQ, the United Kingdom’s largest technical and cybersecurity agency, he led the organization through a period of rapid digital transformation and escalating global cyber threats.

    During his tenure, Robert established the UK National Cyber Security Centre in 2016, creating a unified front for protecting businesses, government institutions, and critical infrastructure from cyber attacks. He was also responsible for the UK’s first national cyber strategy in 2009, laying the groundwork for modern British cyber defense policy. Earlier in his career, he served as the Prime Minister’s Security Adviser at No. 10 Downing Street and worked closely with Tony Blair for a decade, including on the Northern Ireland Peace Process.

    Today, Robert serves as International Chairman of BlueVoyant, a global cybersecurity services company, and has been a Senior Adviser to McKinsey & Company. He is a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard University, a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology in London, and an Honorary Fellow at Oxford University.

He was honoured by Queen Elizabeth for services to national security and is one of the only non-US citizens to have received the US Intelligence Distinguished Public Service Medal.
